To engage stakeholders in the design, advocacy, and implementation of solutions to revitalize the Greater New York Avenue Gateway

To redevelop the New York Avenue Corridor into a dynamic gateway that is vibrant, economically diverse, and that enhances the quality of life for residents and stakeholders

Governance

Serve as a liaison to neighboring residents, spearhead marketing/branding, business attraction, tecchnical assistance, and coordination among businesses.

Workforce Development

Strength District residents' skills and job readiness through workforce development programs.

Economic Development

Assist small businesses in upgrading their facilities and support growth in emerging industries.

Business Finance and Assistance

Help Ward 5 businesses to access financial resources and technical assistance.

GNYAGG Leadership and Staff

Chairperson

 

Convenes regularly scheduled board meeting and presides or arranges for other members of the Executive Committee to preside at each meeting.

 

Executive Vice Chairperson (EVC) serves in absence of the chairperson and assumes the position of chairperson if it is vacated prematurely. The Executive Vice Chairperson is responsible for Strategic Partnerships and External Affairs. The EVC is responsible for committees assigned to him/her by the chairperson.

Vice Chairperson for Operations & Administrative Services serves in absence of the EVC and is the second in line of succession of the chairperson if both the EVC and chairperson are absent or unable to continue in those positions. The Vice Chairperson is responsible for operations and administrative services and any committees assigned to him/her by the chairperson.

Vice Chairperson for Finance and Institutional Advancement serves in absence of the EVC and Vice Chair for Operations and is the third in line of succession of the chairperson if the EVC, Vice Chair for Operations and chairperson are absent or unable to continue in those positions. The Vice Chairperson for Finance is responsible for financial matters, fundraising, and any committees assigned to him/her by the chairperson.

Vice Chairperson for Programs and Initiatives is responsible for program development, special projects, and initiatives. The Vice Chairperson for Programs and Initiatives is responsible for any committees assigned to him/her by the chairperson.
Secretary shall be responsible for keeping records of board actions, including overseeing the recording of minutes at all board meetings, sending out meeting announcements, distributing copies of minutes and the agenda to each board member, and assuring that corporate records are maintained.
Financial Secretary receives, records, and deposits all funds received in a timely and thorough manner and maintains financial paperwork. The financial secretary works with the treasurer, vice chair for finance and institutional advancement (fundraising), and committee on finance to develop policies and procedures so that funds can be made available to support the organization.
Treasurer makes a report at each board meeting. The treasurer shall chair the finance committee, assist in the preparation of the budget, help develop fundraising plans, and make financial information available to board members and the public.
